What does the Bible say about Masturbation?

In the book of Romans 1:29-30 were several types of sin listed but that is just few of the many sin types mentioned and enumerated in the bible by Apostle Paul.

Often times the human mind works in a very funny way, including the mind of the born again Christian. Such that when a man is bound by a particular sin and has tried to break free from it, he begins to look for ways of justifying the sin or excusing his conscience as the case may be.

And often times, they are not afraid at all to even look for justifications from the word of God. And they do it in either of two ways:
First, they look for where it is written, and if they see that it's written against the acts or practice in question, they then seek for private interpretation, or try to use another scripture to counter it. But no scripture is of private interpretation (2 Peter 1:20), rather scriptures always have a way of interpreting themselves with other scriptures because by the mouth of two or three every word will be established. Check (2 Corinthians 13:1).

The second way people try to explain away their sinful habits with the word of God is by coming up with the fact that God never really said anything about this sin or that sin, etc. (Jeremiah 17:9).

A man does not have to always categorically mention a thing before you know what he means or is trying to say. You can simply know what a man implies by what he said. God does not have to mention all the names of the sins in the world that people are committing or will commit, rather all sins are categorised under three main headings and they are: The lust of the eyes, The lust of the flesh and The pride of life (1 John 2:16)

So, for those who believe that masturbation is not a sin, I will say that they are technically right. Masturbation is not a sin but an inquity.

In the bible, offences against God are put under three major headings and they are Sin, Transgression and Iniquity. Sin, simply put is "missing the mark". This is an offense that people do many times without knowing. Transgression, on the other hand means "to Revolt", "Rebellion", and to "Trespass". But iniquity is perversity, "moral evil", ".mischief".

OTHER REASONS WHY MASTURBATION IS A SIN

1. THE STATE OF YOUR MIND: You cannot masturbate with a blank mind. Foe you to successfully masturbate, you will have to flood your mind with as many dirty pictures as possible. The Websters dictionary calls it sexual fantasies. This is because sex and everything sex is a mind thing. The body does not have the power to do what it wants to do. It must always receive command from the mind. If your mind does not do it, your body cannot do it.
You cannot have a clean mind and masturbate at the same time. By the way most people who masturbate engage in alot of pornography. That is what it takes to have a successful session of masturbation. (Matt.5:28).

2. IT CUTS YOU OFF
    Like every other sin, masturbation cuts you off from God. You lose the presence of God immediately after the act. I am yet to see one person among the very many people that I have counseled that did not feel estranged from God after the act. You cannot finish masturbating and flow in prayer or the study of the word. You cannot be masturbating and be speaking in tongues. It just does not go with God or His presence.

Sometime you do not need to know any more about a thing, all you need is to find out if it encourages the presence of God in your life or not.

3. IT DESTROYS MARRIAGES
Everytime, the perverted version of a thing destroys the real thing or original. Any husband who masturbates will have great difficulty satisfying his wife and vice versa. Any wife who masturbates will hardly experience sexual satisfaction in marriage, no matter how hard the husband tries. She will always end up masturbating somewhere to make up. And for as long as this continues, the bond between the couple will further disintegrate. Sexual union was God's provision for oneness or one fleshness. Jesus said "wherefore they are no more twin but one flesh..." (Matt 19:6). This oneness is something that only happens in the place of sexual union between couples. Sex is what the bible refers to as "cleave".

Beloved, to deal with your masturbating habit today is to make a great deal of investment into your marriage and marital life. Come to think of it, to keep masturbating in marriage is to bring in a third party, but this time in your mind. So while you are living with your spouse physically, emotionally and in your mind you are living with someone or something else that satisfies you sexually. That third party is the image or images that provokes and fuels your masturbating habit.

Masturbation causes sexual denial in marriage and that is not the will of God according to (1 Corinthians 7: 3-5).

This results in very gross sexual dysfunction in marriage. Often for the men, the experience of premature ejaculation would be the order of the day in their homes thereby causing their spouses to really suffer continually. It often takes the grace of God to bring healing to such victims.

Less sex means less bonding. Therefore to make bonding a reality, masturbation must be put out of the way.
