Jamb set to switch from the use of Braille machine to interactive mode

The registrar Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (Jamb) Prof. Is-haq Oloyede has stated that the use of Braille note apex machine for  blind candidates will be suspended for interactive mode.

He attributed the lack of blind candidates to perform optimally at their best due to the fact that they're not exposed to the braille machine, lack of enough braille machines etc as the cause of this latest development. He also stated that presently jamb has only 20 of this machine out of over 200 registered blind candidates.

Prof. Oleyede also pleaded with various state government to help in purchasing this braille machine due to its expensive cost. It was noted that just one braille machine goes for about 1.5m. He also made it known that the blind candidates are not going to take Mathematics questions this year.

Oleyede said this while addressing some blind candidates from Bethesda home for the blind on the sideline of the board's stakeholders' meeting wity CBT centre owners.

Meanwhile, this interactive mode has being limited to three locations Lagos, Kano and Abuja for the exam scheduled to hold in May.
